Fun Fact Friday

Ghetto post today.  Sorry.  Lazy.  Hope you enjoy some of these o' so fun facts on this o' so glorious Friday.

Let's start with the most important of all fun facts....

The average hot dog is consumed in 6.1 bites.  I'll test out this fact over the weekend and let you know what I find.

Bruce Willis proposed to Demi Moore in front of a hot dog stand. Romantic. Apparently hot dogs are not lucky as these two are divorced. Womp. Womp.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day every year Americans typically consume 7 billion hot dogs.  That's 818 hot dogs consumed every second.  This gal is proud to be an American!

Some non-hot dog related fun facts....

More than 10 people a year are killed by vending machines.  Interesting. Does this happen because your Twix bar gets stuck and you smash the machine and then it falls and crushes you?

Cash machines are as dirty as public toilets.  Yum.

The word listen contains the same letters as silent. Cool.

If you blow torch pepto-bismol, you would get a hunk of metal.  Anyone have a blow torch I can borrow?

Moscow weathermen can be fired for inaccurate weather forecasting.  All New England weathermen/women would be out of a job if this were the case.

Oprah makes $10 per second.  Shocker.

That last fun fact o' the day.  This gal is heading to Kelly's to get a grilled cheese sandy for lunch.  Okay, I'm getting two grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.  Jealous? xox

It's Feedin' Time

Oh hi.  Let's talk about food.  Yay!  As you know I'm partial to processed meats, cheese and all things fried.    Breakfast, lunch and dinner - the three best parts of my day.  Pathetic? Yes. Delicious? YEEEEESSSSSS!

From the moment I wake up I start thinking about what I am going to eat for the day.  Last Monday I ventured to Woodman's in Essex, MA with my mom and lil' lady.  Since my gal was sleeping I sat in the car while my mom went in and placed our order.  I asked for clam cakes and french fries. This is what my mother came back with...

one hot dog, french fries, clam chowder, clam cakes, onion rings, friend clams and extra tarter sauce.

So if you were wondering where I get my horrific eating habits, wonder no more.  I think you have the answer.

I indulged in this gooey, cheesy wholesome goodness at Silvertone's in Boston yesterday for lunch.  Divine.

My slacks, shorts and skirts are fitting a tad snug these days.  Ouch.  So. Worth. It.  After all, food is one of life's necessities. Never deny yourself. Keep on feasting folks.    xox

Hope

Hi.  It's me.  Been gone awhile.  These last two weeks have been shear madness. Would love to fill you in but you'll just have to wait for my book.  He haw.  So I'm not a mushy person. Today's post may be borderline mushy.  Yuck. Or maybe it's just real.  You decide.

I rarely watch t.v. and I don't read magazines. I prefer to spend my free time eating, surfing the web for things I can't afford and playing with my peeps.  With that being said it's weird for me to post about a celebrity.  I'm not really up on the scene when it comes to Hollywood.  The last time I swooned over anyone famous was during my NKOTB days.  Please Don't Go Girl. Best. Song. Ever. Love ya Joey.

What is it about Giuliana and Bill?  They make me laugh and cry all in a one hour episode. I have to admit I've only seen two episodes of their show and I'm hooked.  I can't relate to much of G's life aside from her struggle to have a baby.  Watching her makes me hopeful.  Hopeful for my fellow IVF'ers and all the gal's out there that struggle with infertility.  So thanks G for taking your struggle public.  Your story helps others.  Waaaaaa. Getting too mushy.

I'm also hopeful that for mom's day someone special will give me this lil' treat...

Lot's of hope today.  It's just a hopeful kind of day. xox

Wheaten Wednesday

Today's post is dedicated to Brody, my soft coated wheaten terror.  Bro, Bromance, Blokie.  I have a few other names I use when he is testing my patience but if I swear on this blog my mother will call and yell at me.  No joke.

Where to begin. Brody is 6 year old hyperactive, anxious wheatie.  My Bro stories put Marley & Me to shame.  Marley's got nothing on the Bro.  Unfortunately, my furry friend has taken the back seat since the arrival of my little gal.  Poor guy didn't even make my Christmas card last year.

Always lurking in the back.  Never center stage. Woof. Woof.

 BRODDDDDDDDDDYYYYYYY

Since I'm on the topic o' Wheaten's.  Check out these Petite Wheaton rings from my other love, DY.

Have a wonderful Wheaten/Wheaton Wednesday. xox

bold, bright & beautiful

I'm loving the color craze that is taking over the fashion world right now.  Slacks, shorts, skirts, shifts, shirts, shoes, satchels - you name it.  The brighter the better.  Yes, I used the word slacks.  How about dungarees?  Does anyone have a father that still refers to jeans as dungarees?  I do.  Be jealous.  Anyway, it's all about color. As we all know trends come and go so my suggestion is to fill up your closet for the season, but don't spend a fortune. Maybe the title of  this post should've been Thrifty Thursday.  You know the deal -  it's in today but out tomorrow.  I recommend GAP if you want colorful dungarees at a reasonable price.  Buy a size smaller though because they stretch.  After one wear it will look like you have a load in your pants.  No joke. Toot. Toot.

Slacks.

Shorts.

Skirts.

Shifts.
Shirts.

Shoes & Satchels

Okay, disregard my Thrifty Thursday comment.  Half the stuff I posted cost more than what I make in a month of work.  Waaaa.  Good day my friends.  Be bold. Be bright. Be beautiful. xox

Tunic Tuesday

The ship has not sunk.  I'm still afloat.  It's been over a week since my last post.  I know you missed me.   Don't fret.  I'm back.   And yes, I know it's not Tuesday but I started writing this post yesterday and never finished.  Just go with. Anyway, Easter has come and gone and so has the opportunity to send out my Easter card.  Oops.  Maybe next year?  So, I didn't get any treats in my basket this year.  Nothing.  Not even a single Cadbury egg.  Waaa. Had the Easter bunny hopped on over to my pad I would've wanted a basket filled with tunics.  A basket o' 7  neatly folded tunics.  A tunic a day.  Brilliant.

TUNIC.  First, it's a fun word to say. Second, it's the perfect shirt to hide your belly after you eat too much. I don't have a third so insert your own here____

Terrific Tory Tunics.  Stop Tory.  Just stop.  I love you, but can't afford you.

Trendy chambray tunics.....

OMG.  Love Devon Baer tunics.

Kate.  You already know how I feel about you. xox

Okay, so that was 9 tunics not 7.  If they all fit in my basket I'll take em'.

Enlighten Me

I'm back and ready to light up your life.  While on a mission to find the perfect lighting for my bathroom I stumbled across Barn Light Electric.  Awesome find.  Your welcome.  This site has an un-be-lievable selection of barn lighting, pendants and sconces.  If you can't find something on this site that tickles your fancy then shame on you.

Send a little light my way.....

You are a beauty.  Light. It. Up.

Nautical lighting. Yes please.

This handsome fella (and his twin) light up my life everyday when I visit my bathroom.  Tink. Tink. Toot. Toot.
Hope this post brought a little light your way. Shine. On.
