Digging the title of today's post. Lying. How about Torre's Tuesday Tips? Blah. Even worse. Anyway, here are some tips to get you through this chilly Tuesday morning. Actually, they aren't really tips at all. Perhaps words to the wise? Nope not that either.
Ok, let's just call it what it is - a meaningless post of all the random things floating through my head at the moment.
~Eat cheese. LOTS of cheese and don't feel guilty about it. Never deny yourself cheesy wholesome goodness.
~ Smile. When your pissed, sad, annoyed or just in a whatever mood - smile at random people. It somehow makes you feel better. I'm totally serious about this one.
~Embrace materialism. Please get over the fact that materialism is bad. It's not. It simply means you like stuff. Personally, I love stuff. The more stuff the better. So get shopping.
~If you were contemplating having or adopting children - JUST DO IT - as Nike would say. Do it for the simple reason that Serena & Lily now has a Kidshop. {http://www.serenaandlily.com/Kidshop} Swoon.
~Since we are embracing things today....embrace all things nautical. It will make you happy. I promise. Start with this nifty nautical tee from J Crew.
~Listen to Green Eyes by Coldplay and Helena Beat by Foster the People at least once a day. You'll smile. I promise. Yes, this is my second promise of the day.
~Go to Kelly's and get a grilled cheese. Go to Silvertones and get mac n' cheese. Go to Panera Bread and get broccoli cheddar soup. Go to Sam Lagrassa's and get the jumbo ruben with extra cheese. Then go for an 8 mile run. Ouch.
I know, you feel like a more complete well rounded person after reading this post. Perhaps if you took my advice on the food you are looking a bit round. Whatever the case - today is Tuesday. Embrace it. xox

Couch Crisis
Is there any such thing as a stunning sectional? The big guy thinks we need one for our new family room. Oh wait, we don't have a new family room. It doesn't exist quite yet. We took our humble abode off the market a few weeks ago. Construction. Two year old. Four month old. Special needs dog. Anyone have the number of a good divorce attorney? Ouch.
Yup, we decided on the addition instead of packing up 5 years worth of crap that has managed to seep it's way into every available crevice (great word) in this home. I imagine that once construction begins this blog will end up chronicling ever single home decor argument I have with my hubby. If anyone out there is actually reading this blog - stop in April when we break ground.
So back to my crisis. Sectional or no sectional? Not a fan. Never have been. I recognize they are comfy and provide ample seating. Comfy is good. Extra seating is also good but only if you have friends and since my hubby and I are both type A having people over is an ordeal because then our house may get dirty. Yes, this is how we think. Plus, we have no friends - not enough that would fill up a sectional anyway.
My last gripe with sectional sofas is that they encourage fatness. They are so big and comfy that you just get lost in them for hours on end watching mindless television. Nobody in this family aside from my 4 month old premie can afford to gain so much as one pound. I've said my piece. Now somebody get me junior beef from Kelly's with extra mayo.
After sectional stalking on the web, here are some photos that I deem stunning. You will never see any of these in my home because my hubby will claim they are not kid friendly. Ugh.
Jonathan Adler = STUNNING. Color = EXTRA STUNNING.
Horchow
S&L - always stunning.
PB
Layla Grayce - Best. Stuff. Evah.
Stunning or not? You decide. xox

Step by Step
Step One - I could have lots of fun
Step Two - There's so much decorating I could do
Step Three - If someone buys a second home for me
Step Four - Just need one more
Step Five - Don't you know that the time has arrived
NKOTB sums it up well. I need a second home so I can step in style. No, I don't actually need a second home to stencil, paint or wallpaper my stairs. I just want one. Typically what I want and what I get are two very different things. Woe is me.
Upward we go. Love this trend.
Orla Kiely - fantastic print. Aren't they all tho?
This pic is from the cover of the Serena & Lily catalogue. Hi little buddy. I love you just as much as the staircase.

I advise against the mice. Frightening. Very frightening. Did someone actually think this looked good?
Just incase you forgot how to count.....
I'm stepping to bed. See you soon. Nite.

It's all about the Benjamin's
Ben Franklin that is. If I were bathing in $100 bills I would buy everything in the Serena & Lily catalog I received last week. Yes, you caught me in a lie. I love getting b-day invites, birth announcements, thank you notes AND the S&L catalog. I was first exposed to S&L while watching Keeping up with the Kardashians. I'm sure the sisters are reading my blog at this very moment so thanks Kourtney, Kim and Khloe for introducing me to the world of S&L. My thank you note is in the mail. My hubby sends his thanks as well - but not for getting me hooked on Serena & Lily. He was thrilled when I registered for $400 nursery bedding and he was even more excited when I purchased two $118 toy chests (with his cc) on wheels that are a hazard to any child under 10. Despite the hazard they do look super cute in my family room.
Quadrille fabric. Words cannot do justice to all the amazing fabric on this website. Total insanity. I'm baffled that so many gorgeous fabric choices are available on one website. Simply incredible. Painstakingly expensive. Unfortunately my windows will never be dressed in such luxury. Cry me a river.
Don't get discouraged just yet. Spoonflower.com has some amazing fabrics. When you have time (a lot) peruse this website. I'll admit it's a bit overwhelming at first because there are literally thousands of fabrics to pick from. Patience. You'll find one you love. Promise.
My couch and love seat would be covered with these Madeline Weinrib pillows if Ben Franklin and I were BFF. But we are not, therefore my head will never touch a Madeline Weinrib pillow and my feet will never get to experience the plushness of one of her rugs. Waaa.
Unless I hit the lottery or my husband and I both change professions we will never be bathing in the Benjamin's. But after all, isn't the fun in decorating being resourceful and creating the expensive looks you love for a fraction of the cost?

Since Benny and I rarely come in contact, here are some affordable pillows that will hopefully have a new home on my couch and loveseat in the near future.
