Dose of Dysfunctionality

Hello lovelies. Hate to do this but I need to get my mushies out of the way. Bare with me.

For those of you familiar with Blogger you know that you can check your "stats". Sounds fancy.  It's not.  I'm always amazed by the amount of people that actually read this blog. Seriously, why?  I love that you do. Trust me. I feel pretty bad ass at the end of the day when I see my stats.  Let's be honest though - I talk about nothing.  I blab to you about stuff I want but can't afford and chronicle in painstaking detail my design dilemmas.

Occasionally I give you a glimpse into my life - the stuff that goes beyond my obsession with DY and KS. The real stuff.  Those posts seems to resonate the most with whoever is out there reading this highly informative blog.  My most heartfelt posts {barf that I just wrote that} are the ones where my inbox blows up, my text alert beeps non stop and my FB messenger goes haywire.  I love that my stories make you want to share yours. I love that strangers write to me.  I love that I have forged friendships - real friendships because you are comfortable enough to share your secrets with me.

That glimpse into my life that I put out there for anyone to read has connected me with some amazing gals.  Gals that got me through the last year of my life.  I have lots to write about this....to be continued....

So thank you for reading. I'm glad I can give you your daily {weekly is prolly more accurate} dose of dysfunctionality. xox

Neon

Neon.  It's so spring 2012.  I feel like I'm channeling my inner Tim Gunn.  Can't you picture him saying that on Project Runway?  Yes, neon was a spring 2012 trend but  it's still very much alive and well today.

After perusing some of my fav stores and designers here is what tickled my fancy. Or should I say tickled me pink...

Bright.  Very bright.

You'll never get hit by a car while out running if you're wearing these bad boys.

Dress me.

This dress is $8,100.  For that price it better glow in the dark.

Be dazzled. Or blinded.

Bold.  Bright.

If you have a habit of losing your kids don't fret.  Just throw a pair of these on em'.

Hate my Bugaboo but I would buy one of these just for the color scheme.  Fashion before function. ALWAYS.

Now for the home decor.  Interesting.  Not for me though. I am curious to know if your electric bill would be less cause you definitely don't need to turn on the lights with decor this bright.

Don't forget to say THANKS

Some of the home decor items are pretty swell, however I'm quite certain you'll never see any neon decor in my home aside from the god awful Fisher Price and Little Tikes toys haphazardly thrown about. As for the clothing - unless I have some 80's garb tucked away in my attic,  I don't believe I own anything neon. Stay tuned I may just venture out of my comfort zone and give this trend a whirl despite the fact I'm a year late to the rave.  Oops.

Be bright and glow on my friends. xox

Floral Faux Pas

Got an email yesterday from J Crew.  I typically welcome any and all email from J Crew.  This particular email was about the 6 things you need to see at J Crew.  Finding your floral was one of the 6 things you need to see.  Please, I beg of you - DO NOT FIND YOUR FLORAL - especially in the form of pants.

If you haven't gotten the memo floral pattern pants are "all the rage" as my mom would say.  In this case mom is right. The ugliness of floral pants ignites some type of rage within me.  Honestly, don't wear them UNLESS you are over 6 feet tall and weigh less than 120 pounds.  No joke.  Yes, I am discriminating against all the big boned gals out there.  These pants are not for you so go eat another slab o' cake.  They really aren't for anyone but runway models because the floral pattern makes them look less emaciated - models you should indulge in some cake too.  I'm laughing my big boned girl ass off right now as I write this. Whoot. Whoot.

Do not wear these.  Pretty please.

Fun & fantastically acceptable floral.

Floral for the wee ones is always acceptable.

Thank you in advance for not turning into a walking garden and creating the ultimate floral faux pas. xox
