steppin' out

I'm getting gussied up and going out. {yay} I have plans every weekend this month. Apparently I have friends.  Who knew? Actually, I'm just taking my life back.  Hells ya, takin' it back.  Shout out to m&d for watching m&n. Heading out with the big guy and I'm beyond excited for our month o' festivities.

I'm so verklempt {wow, big word} I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with how I feel like a celebrity.  Actually, in my head I am a celebrity. Obvs. Whatever gets you through the day right?

Anyway, my outfits are so freaking fabulous I can't even stand it.  Again, in my head they are fab. The jury is still out on whether they are fab or flop.

Okay, getup number 1.  You will find me all aglow in these bold, bright J Crew slacks.  I bought these maybe 4 years ago and they are still a-maz-ing.  Note to self: to avoid looking like a jack-o-lantern do not pair any black with these bad boys.

After much ado, here are the pants.  It wasn't easy searching through hundreds of Google images trying to find pants I purchased 4 years ago. {perhaps too much time on my hands} And the top I introduced you to a few weeks back.

Okay, so I've proved that I stink at the whole visual presentation thing hence the reason this blog is always a cluster.  All you need is vision. Visualize this ensemble on a 5'8 tan brunette with the best personality evah. Now do you see?  It's a work of art. Not sure what to do about the shoe situation. I stink at picking out shoes too. Stinker.

Getup #2. This is another oldie but goodie.  Got this Clover Canyon shirt for my bday last year and I'm still as in love with it as the day I got it.  OBSESSED. How gorgeous is the split back?

I'll be sporting this beauty with my dark wash Paige jeans or my GAP white skinny jeans.  Don't worry, I'll keep you in the loop on what I decide. After all, it is a very important decision.

I have two more outfits in the works.  Stay tuned.  I just need to rob a bank or do the usual and steal the hubby's cc so I can bring them to fruition. xox

Repeat After Me

So I've been talking about the addition to our home for oh let's see TWO YEARS. Ugh. I hope I don't bite my tongue but I'm pretty sure {real deal yo} we are signing the contract to commit to our contractor this evening. I'm so dang excited I can't even handle it.  Repeat after me: clean slate.  I will now have a family room, bedroom, master bath and walk in closet to decorate. This is amazing.  Well, I guess its only amazing if I don't end up in divorce court.  Womp. Womp.

Wisteria.  Repeat that.  Everyone all together now: clean slate/wisteria/clean slate/wisteria

When I pull that shiny little gem of a catalog out of my mailbox the world just stops. I retreat to the bathroom, lock the door, sit on the floor and swoon.  The dog can be tooting all over the house, M can be running amuck and NPF4 can be crying because M is frightening him.  None of it matters because I am in a catalog coma.

Honestly, you I need everything in the catalog and on the website. I'm coffee table obsessed at the moment.   As my M says when she sees cupcakes - I NEED THIS.  Smart girl.  I've obv taught her well.

I have two visions for my family room; both very different. These will fit with my first vision and the travertine my second.

Mirror for the master bath.

Der, more nautical.  You always have a place in my home.

Sit down in my new family room chairs.

Have a seat. Don't exactly know where this lady love will fit but she certainly is a beauty.

I need to stop.  I've tired myself out.  Let's be real.  I'm going to IKEA. Repeat after me: IKEA. xox

Ooops I did it again...

Before I had children I swore I would feed them healthy food, discipline them and not allow them to watch television.  Fail on all counts. Actually, there are a whole host of other things I swore I wouldn't do as a parent, but like anything in life you don't know what or how you are going to react until you experience it.

So, with this being said I'm sure at some point (prior to kids) I witnessed a mother and daughter wearing matching ensembles and rolled my eyes.  Ooops.

I just purchased these two items from J Crew Factory online.

For me and my gal...

I can't even handle myself.   LOVE both of these pieces. Whether me and my love wear them on the same day - that remains to be seen.  If you do see us walking the streets of M'head its totes acceptable for you to roll your eyes. I would.

Hopefully they don't get delivered to the door when the big guy is home because there will def be eye rolling.  Stay tuned. xox

It's Tuesday

Digging the title of today's post. Lying.  How about Torre's Tuesday Tips?  Blah.  Even worse. Anyway, here are some tips to get you through this chilly Tuesday morning.  Actually, they aren't really tips at all. Perhaps words to the wise?  Nope not that either.

Ok, let's just call it what it is - a meaningless post of all the random things floating through my head at the moment.

~Eat cheese.  LOTS of cheese and don't feel guilty about it.  Never deny yourself cheesy wholesome goodness.
~ Smile.  When your pissed, sad, annoyed or just in a whatever  mood - smile at random people.  It somehow makes you feel better.  I'm totally serious about this one.
~Embrace materialism. Please get over the fact that materialism is bad.  It's not.  It simply means you like stuff. Personally, I love stuff.  The more stuff the better.  So get shopping.
~If you were contemplating having or adopting children - JUST DO IT - as Nike would say.  Do it for the simple reason that Serena & Lily now has a Kidshop. {http://www.serenaandlily.com/Kidshop} Swoon.
~Since we are embracing things today....embrace all things nautical.  It will make you happy.  I promise.  Start with this nifty nautical tee from J Crew.

~Listen to Green Eyes by Coldplay and Helena Beat by Foster the People at least once a day.  You'll smile.  I promise.  Yes, this is my second promise of the day.
~Go to Kelly's and get a grilled cheese. Go to Silvertones and get mac n' cheese.  Go to Panera Bread and get broccoli cheddar soup.  Go to Sam Lagrassa's and get the jumbo ruben with extra cheese. Then go for an 8 mile run. Ouch.

I know, you feel like a more complete well rounded person after reading this post.  Perhaps if you took my advice on the food you are looking a bit round.  Whatever the case - today is Tuesday.  Embrace it. xox

let them eat cake

HBD to me.  34 years young.  Please bake me one of these sweet sugary delights.  NOW.

Wow, 34 years and there are still so many things I simply don't understand....

~why mayonnaise isn't considered a food group~
~why Barack Obama is POTUS~ (baffling)
~why Volvo doesn't use the slogan "the car made for drinking and driving"~ (jk, but not really.  I asked my mechanic this question.  He was in stitches. Hubby not so much)
~why women wear makeup and their hair down while working out at the gym~ (infuriating to me)

Obv I have a million other things that baffle me but I would much rather share with you the beauties I am currently coveting.  Treats. Goodies. Stuff. I love stuff.

Elva Fields. Swoon. Want em' all.

This J CREW ensemble is perfection.  Honestly, this lil' number is amazing.  Want it.  Really want it.

Lilly Love

Devon Baer.  Never disappoints.

Life is short. Have your cake and eat it too. xox

Tribute to Tory

Ok, so I stink at blogging everyday.  We'll leave it at that.

Today we will pay tribute to Tory.  I love her. You should too.

For those of you familiar with Tory Burch and her kicks this statement is surely one you have heard before - Torture Burch.  I can't dub myself an expert as I only own two pair of TB flats but what I do know is that my Reva's allowed me to run down a main road chasing after a FED EX truck that hit my car and drove off.  Yes, true story.  I caught him.  Go me. Cursed. Called police. Blah blah blah.

I probably ran a good 1/2 mile in my Reva's without incident.  Not even a blister.  So for those of you contemplating  buying a pair for the spring - just do it knowing that the $195 or $225 that you spend is money well invested if you are ever involved in a hit and run.

So what better way to spend our Tuesday than ogling over Tory and her overpriced collection.

I'm doing that nautical thing again.  Shock-er.

Orange & Gold Perfection

Teal Gorgeousness.

 Green with envy.

Have a terrific tory tuesday.  xox

Seaside Swagger

Good afternoon mates. It's a nautical kind of day.  Climb onboard for our seaside soiree.

Since I just purchased this 5.8 million dollar pad in M'Head it's only fitting that I find the appropriate seaside swagger to compliment this beauty.  JK.  Could you imagine if I lived here?  You know you would want to be my friend if I did.

Sailing right along you'll notice a common theme...the color white.  Clean, crisp and oh so refreshing.

Unfortunately whites do not stay white very long in this house.  It's not the most favorable of colors when you own a special needs dog and have two kiddies under the age of two.  Bleach.  It works miracles if you are brave enough to sail in this direction.

Wonderful white...

If you're hungry for some nautical treats, I recommend these:

Since my 5.8 million dollar pad has a lot more wall space I think these nifty nautical prints will do...

Reason to hang out in the loo?  I think so.

Mirror mirror on the wall...

If my hubby leaves and some other guy is crazy enough to marry this gal these invites could be sailing your way...

I love white and from the images above apparently oars too.  They not only look gorg on a wall but they double as a weapon when your friends and family get out of line. He haw.

Bye bye mates.  xox
